Avant-garde / experimental music PR

avante-garde-pr-client.jpg

If you’re putting out leftfield music, you need a music PR company that will get what you’re doing. Most won’t.

These styles of music rely not only on a detailed knowledge of a wide range of genres, compositional styles and key supporters in the scene, but also an insight into which publications might be able to cover the music in crossover territories of the media.

We like to think we’ve got a team that is more open-minded and dedicated to working on outsider and esoteric genres than other music PR companies — a team that not only has key connections in key experimental areas but can also help you to make inroads across jazz, electronic, indie and rock titles where relevant.

Track record

We have recently had the pleasure of working with the estimable re-issue label Superior Viaduct on a reissue of Tony Conrad’s seminal ‘Ten Years Alive On The Infinite Plain’, which was listed as MOJO’s No.1 Underground album of the year, and earned ‘Best New Reissue’ from Pitchfork.

Other recent clients include: drone music pioneer Harold Budd, the Brian Eno curated All Saints Records, new-age mystic Laraaji, darkwave act Piano Magic, the enigmatic Scott Walker and Helge Sten (Deathprod / Supersilent) and John Paul Jones’ semi-improvised Minibus Pimps project.

We’ve also worked with a number of rising artists such as the much-tipped Black Country, New Road, picked by The Observer as their tip for 2020 and championed by The Quietus, Uncut and MOJO amongst others, the Black Midi collaborator Jerskin Fendrix and Astrid Sonne, whose debut album on Danish tastemaker label and collective Escho earned plaudits from CRACK, FACT, Mixmag, Electronic Sound, The Wire, DJ Mag and more.

Similarly, we worked with artist, actor and Lust For Youth member Soho Rezanejad’s debut album, which was critically acclaimed by The FADER, Q, Uncut, FACT, the Quietus, The Wire, Hyponik and more.

We also recently ran a press campaign for EuroNoize, an EU funded avant-garde alternative to Eurovision (featuring acts such as Winny Puhh, Asian Women On The Telephone, Hassan K and more), which received coverage from BBC Radio 3 Late Junction, The Wire, the Quietus, FACT, DAZED Digital, Novara Media and BBC 6 Music.

Whether you’re a new artist looking to build your foundations in the media or an established artist looking to take your music into new areas of the press and expand your reach, we feel we have the connections to help build those relationships and get your music in front of the right people. Contact us today.
